A Community Voice for Brightwood Park

Jenn Kauffman (she/her/ella) has been a Ward 4 resident for a decade, and a DC resident for nearly 20 years. She has spent more than two decades working at the intersection of advocacy, organizing, technology, and campaigns, working within the labor movement and nonprofit organizations to support workers’ rights and progressive policies. Jenn currently serves as Senior Policy Advisor for Councilmember Janeese Lewis George. Before joining Councilmember Lewis George’s office, she worked as an advocate for labor protections, immigrants’ rights, paid family leave, and tax justice policy.

Jenn has a Bachelor of Journalism from the Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communications at the University of Georgia, a Master of Science in Labor Studies from the University of Massachusetts Amherst, and is pursuing a part-time Master of Public Health degree from Boston University. She lives in Washington, D.C. with her spouse and two children.
